Follow the B4265 through St Athan to the A4226.
At the junction with A4050 take the 1st exit (A4050) then to the A48 (Culverhouse Cross) Take 3rd exit A48 (signposted Cardiff West). At the Gabalfa interchange, if on the roundabout take the last exit signposted A470 M4 and Merthyr Tydfil, or go straight over the flyover.

from Cwmbran (20 miles)
Head south on the A4042 to Newport (13 miles). Take the M4 to Junction 29 (A48(M)) Branch left (signposted Cardiff E and S) to join A48(M). Turn off the A48 at the Gabalfa interchange (A470). At the roundabout, take the last exit signposted A470 M4 and Merthyr Tydfil.

from the north (J32 of M4): (Tonypandy [Rhondda] 18 miles, Pontypridd 13 miles)
Stay on the dual carriageway (A470) to the end. You will go through 4 sets of traffic lights then be forced around a bar/restaurant on a traffic Island. This is the "East". Stay in the middle lane as you approach the Gabalfa roundabout.
DO NOT GO OVER THE FLYOVER
At the roundabout, go all the way around the roundabout and take the last exit signposted A470 M4 and Merthyr Tydfil, as if you were going back home.
